Our approach to Kindergarten-Early Learning is grounded in the belief that our youngest children are competent, curious individuals who build theory and understanding about the world they inhabit through the relationships they construct, both with one another and with their environment.

Our Approach

While directly influenced by the world-renowned, socio-constructive Reggio Emilia Approach, we build our approach to learning on a strong international and multilingual foundation.

In our Kindergarten-Early Learning School, we lay the groundwork for our students to develop 21st-century skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, and negotiation. To do so, we leverage the power of relationships. Our inquiry-based approach encourages strong relationships with children, families, and teachers to build a community of learners and flows seamlessly into the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.

Early on, we emphasise small group, concept-based exploratory learning, focusing on big ideas rather than subject-specific content. This way, we provide children with the necessary context in which they will use their understanding, connecting knowledge with the “real world”.

We also encourage children to collaborate on research projects and use many symbolic and expressive languages to communicate their understanding. In doing so, we allow children not only to make visible their working theories but also build different verbal languages in a playful exploratory manner.

Children should be allowed to be children after all; playful, curious, enquiring. Therefore, we give value to this special time in childhood while at the same time preparing children for success throughout school and beyond.

Students at our Kindergarten-Early Learning School have an outstanding space in which they learn. The purposefully designed buildings and extensive grounds allow opportunities for staff to meet the needs of young children as they develop from 12 months to 6 years.

Reggio Emilia Approach

The idea of the environment as the third teacher is a common understanding of the Reggio Emilia Approach to education and our skilled practitioners ensure the classrooms and open areas offer stimulating opportunities for the holistic development of our students.

Our Kindergarten-Early Learning School students have an active and healthy daily routine with ample time for outdoor learning and play. Physical fitness is also developed through curriculum PE under guidance of our qualified coaches.

Students at the Kindergarten-Early Learning School also enjoy healthy, nutritious lunch every day. The students learn good eating habits as well as starting to appreciate the social and sharing aspects of mealtimes.
